GPS

• GPSBabel - translation between different gps data formats; data transfer to and from receiver
• GPS Track Maker (Win only) - data transfer to and from receiver; graphical editing of gps data
• jEdit (with XML and Sidekick plugins) - textual editing of gps data (in gpx format)
• Google Earth - gps data visualization
• Google Maps - gps data visualization

JPEG/EXIF

• exiv2 - gpsdings can use exiv2 to write gps information to the exif tag of a photograph
• photomolo/exifiron - (automatic) lossless rotation of digital photographs
• exiftool exiftool -TagsFromFile source.jpg target.jpg will copy EXIF data from one file to another (e. g. to a composite panorama image from one of its components)
